Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Bristol Blast Away Limited collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It applies when you use this website, contact us by phone, WhatsApp, email or our online forms, and when we carry out work for you.
1. Who we are
Bristol Blast Away Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an exterior cleaning company registered in England and Wales, company number 13427942.
We are the “controller” of your personal information under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
2. The information we collect
- Contact details – your name, phone number, email address, postal address and postcode.
- Details about the job – the service you are interested in, your message, and any photos, measurements or access information you send us.
- Booking and payment records – quotes, bookings, invoices and payments. We do not store full card numbers; card payments are handled by our payment provider.
- Communications – messages and call details when you contact us by phone, WhatsApp, text or email.
- Website data – your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you visit and how you reached our site (for example from a Google advert). This is collected through cookies and similar technologies – see section 8.
- Blog comments – if you comment on a blog post, the name, email address, comment and IP address you submit.
3. How we use your information and our legal basis
- To answer your enquiry, prepare a quote, arrange a visit and carry out the work – because you have asked us to (steps before a contract, and performing our contract with you).
- To send invoices, take payment and keep business and tax records – to perform our contract and to meet our legal obligations.
- To follow up on a quote, deal with questions or complaints, and protect our business – our legitimate interests in running and improving our business.
- To understand how our website is used and measure which Google adverts lead to enquiries – your consent where the law requires it, otherwise our legitimate interests.
- To send occasional news, seasonal reminders or offers by email – only if you ticked the newsletter box. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying “unsubscribe” or emailing us.
- Before and after photos – we photograph our work for our records and to show results on our website, social media and Google profile. We do not show people, house numbers or vehicle registrations. If you would prefer we did not use photos of your property, just tell us. Our basis is our legitimate interest in showing the quality of our work.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not make decisions about you using solely automated means.
4. Who we share it with
We only share what is needed, with:
- Service providers who help us run the business – our website hosting provider, Cloudflare (website security and speed), Google (email, Google Ads and Google Analytics), WhatsApp/Meta (if you message us on WhatsApp), and the software we use to manage jobs and invoices.
- Payment providers and our bank – to process payments.
- Our accountant, insurers and professional advisers.
- Trusted team members or subcontractors working on your job – only the details they need, such as your address and access information.
- Authorities such as HMRC – where the law requires it.
5. International transfers
Some of our providers (for example Google, Meta and Cloudflare) may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, the transfer is protected by UK adequacy regulations (including the UK–US “data bridge”) or by approved contractual safeguards.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries and quotes that do not go ahead – up to 2 years from our last contact.
- Customer, invoice and payment records – 6 years from the end of the financial year they relate to, as required for tax and company records.
- Newsletter list – until you unsubscribe.
- Website analytics – in line with the retention settings in our Google Analytics account.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information (unless we must keep it, for example for tax records);
- ask us to restrict, or object to, how we use your information – including objecting to marketing at any time;
- ask for your information in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To use any of these rights, email [email protected] or call 07478 605150. There is normally no charge, and we will reply within one month.
8. Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use:
- Essential cookies – needed for the site to work and stay secure, for example Cloudflare security cookies and cookies that remember if you have closed a pop-up.
- Analytics cookies – Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
- Advertising cookies – Google Ads cookies tell us when someone who clicked one of our adverts later contacts us (conversion tracking). When you send an enquiry through our form, your email address or phone number may be converted into a scrambled (hashed) code and shared with Google so the enquiry can be matched to an advert click (“enhanced conversions”). Google cannot read the original details from this code.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, manage Google advertising through My Ad Center, and opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
9. Keeping your information safe
We use appropriate measures to protect your information, including a secure (HTTPS) website, password-protected accounts and access limited to people who need it.
10. Children
Our services are for adults, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
